SEQUOIA DEL HOYO is a restaurateur, designer, creative director + recipe developer. As Bay Area native, she draws inspiration from her home of Oakland, California as well as her Spanish heritage + home-away-from-home, Barcelona.

In 2015, she co-opened Sequoia Diner in the Laurel District of East Oakland where she and her team were committed to diversity, inclusion, supporting small local farms + providing hospitality to the community + beyond.

In 2020, she created TAROCCO as an answer to the need during the pandemic for healthy meals, delivered. In Spring 2022, TAROCCO opened as a brick + mortar in West Berkeley, serving a tapas style lunch bar using local organic produce.

Sequoia resides in Oakland with her blended family- her partner Chef Jason Botterill + their three children. Her mission is to help people, especially women, live their best lives. On her days off, you can find her at the farmer’s market, picnicking by the lake, or thrifting for vintage home goods.
